Be thankful for what matters most

“Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful.” Colossians 4:2

If I’ve learned anything over the past couple of years, especially while working in health care, it’s that we are far too quick to take for granted the most precious things in life. Sadly, it isn’t until those things are stolen from us that we wake up to just how valuable they are. For that reason, I pray you choose a spirit of thanksgiving this week. I pray you not only give thanks but, like me, reaffirm your commitment to treasuring and honoring the things which matter most in life.

Today, I am most thankful for my faith, freedom, and family and I reaffirm my commitment to them at all costs.

If you have the opportunity, I pray you choose to surround yourself with the warmth of friends and family this week. I pray you rest with a full stomach and heart knowing you are loved by not only the people around you but the One who created all things, including you, for such a time as this. Refuse to take for granted the blessings and the opportunities which surround us every day. May we be ever mindful of that which matters most and take advantage of every fleeting moment to multiply those blessings for us and others.

Happy Thanksgiving, friends!
