Things Jesus Never Said: Cleanliness is Next to Godliness

Jesus had a lot to say during his ministry. He spoke abundantly about truth, grace and love. His words revealed the true nature of the Kingdom of God. His words were so profound, people have parsed and argued over them for 2,000 years. Yet, fascinatingly, despite the sheer abundance and power of his words, this hasn't stopped us from putting words in His mouth.

In this series, "Things Jesus Never Said," we are exploring some popular ideas many think Jesus said or are otherwise found in the pages of the Bible but actually aren't. We're then considering what Jesus actually had to say about the themes reflected therein. In this sixth message of the series, we discuss the often recited line "cleanliness is next to godliness."
