Stranger Things: Giants & Angels
Ghost stories. Haunted Houses. Demon possessions. Exorcisms. Witches. Skeletons. The dead rising from the grave. Mysterious lights in the sky. Giants in the woods. The world can be a mighty strange place, full of otherworldly and, often times, creepy stories. But did you know the Bible is full of stories like these, too?
While most churches refuse to even mention the word “Halloween,” let alone consider the many themes and ideas embraced and celebrated during this time of the year, my church, The Hills Church, and I are committing an entire teaching series to it called “Stranger Things.” Over the next few weeks we’re going to consider some of the strangest, weirdest, and most mysterious stories in the Bible.
In this first message, we tug on a thread which winds its way throughout the Bible beginning in Genesis 6 about some mysterious creatures and their potentially otherwordly parents and consider what it means in light of the gospel. This first message is titled, “Giants & Angels.”
