19 Years. And the adventure continues
Look at these babies. 19 years ago, today. Through the ups and downs of life, she’s been there, always by my side, supporting me, celebrating the victories, nursing me through the defeats. She has picked me up when I was down, cheered me on when I stepped out in faith, and, at times, been my only friend when nobody else seemed to understand what God laid on my heart. Through long military trainings and deployments, risky business startups, stressful political campaigns, church plants and pastoral transitions, health scares and gut wrenching losses, we’ve always been a team who never looked for the escape hatch. Even after 19 years, the adventure of our marriage has never grown stale.
Today, we’re enjoying the greatest adventure of all, raising our beautiful children surrounded by family while serving God and making the small dent in the universe He uniquely created us to form. I’m so grateful we refused to listen to those who “warned us” that marrying at such a young age was “too risky” and maybe even “a grave mistake.”
Erin, marrying you was the second greatest decision I’ve ever made in my life. That decision is topped only by the decision to trust the God who led us to one another and this life we share together. I love you. Happy Anniversary.
